Mrs. Melissa graduated in May 2005 from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre and Dance and a Minor in Music.
Through her University studies she has worked with several world renowned dance companies including: The Miami City Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Alvin Alley American Dance Theatre. She has trained with the Florida Association of Dance during a summer internship. She has been evaluated and is now a member of the Southern Association of Dance Masters.
All of this began from taking dance at Patti Simmons School of Dance where she was taught by Patti Simmons-Marriott for 18 years. During this time, she traveled with the School's Dance Team to many Dance Conventions and Competitions. She started assisting Patti when she was 13 years old, and this training has given her the self confidence and ability to purchase and direct the Dance School as well as the commitment of continuing her education to better train your child.
She and her husband Rodney married on New Years Day 2005. Mrs. Melissa and Mr. Rodney are the proud parents of their first child, a son named David Reid whom they are calling Reid. Reid will be 3 years old in a couple of months! Mrs. Melissa is also the youth leader at her church.
Miss. Amanda has been with the studio for four years. She started out filling in for Mrs. Carolyn when she was sick or could not be at the studio but then Mrs. Melissa decided to bring her onto the staff full time. She helps Mrs. Carolyn with office duties and does things to help Mrs. Melissa as well. She also created and updates the website as it is needed. Miss. Amanda received training from Metro Business College in Cape Girardeau and graduated with a Medical Secretary Diploma. She graduated in May 2013 from SEMO with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a Kindergarten teacher at Charleston R-1 school District. Miss. Amanda is co-youth leader with Mrs. Melissa at their church. She does not have any children of her own but she does claim Mrs. Melissa and Mrs. Melanie's children as her niece and nephews along with her own niece and nephew.
